The Equatorial Electric Field (EEF), generated by the dynamo in the E region, drives vertical plasma motions that contribute to various ionospheric processes. These drifts feed the plasma source, creating the Equatorial Ionization Anomaly (EIA) approximately 20 degrees north and south of the magnetic equator.
