Participating in the JIREP 2025 program at the Jicamarca Radio Observatory was a transformative and enriching experience. Working under the mentorship of experienced researchers at IGP-JRO helped me grow both technically and intellectually. I developed practical skills in data analysis, algorithm development, and scientific thinking. The welcoming environment and collaborative spirit made learning enjoyable and meaningful.

K Siba Kiran Guru
PhD Research Scholar
Equatorial Geophysical Research Laboratory (EGRL)
Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG)
I am truly delighted to have been a part of the prestigious JIREP-2025 research program. I am sincerely grateful to the JIREP team and the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) for providing me with this invaluable opportunity. During my time here, I gained hands-on experience in ISR data analysis, particularly in analyzing actual electron density profiles measured by the Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR). I learned a great deal through discussions with scientists and technicians, which greatly enriched my understanding and skills. The experience I acquired will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the progress of my future research work. As this was my first international research experience, I also had the chance to explore and appreciate the rich culture of Peru. I visited several historical sites and museums, which added a memorable cultural dimension to my stay. My stay in Peru was truly memorable and provided an enriching experience that I will always cherish.

As an undergraduate physics student, the JIREP program helped me get involved in research and develop my thesis. The people who work at ROJ are very attentive and friendly. It was an enriching experience on a professional, cultural, and personal level!

Olaf Enríquez Lizama
Master’s student in Space Science
Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
JIREP is undoubtedly a unique experience. The IGP-JRO staff were very welcoming from the start, and with the variety of experiments running at the observatory the research possibilities are truly vast. Peru itself is a diverse country with attractive destinations for every type of person. I was able to travel to Machu Picchu and the Andes, both experiences I will remember fondly.

My experience at the Radio Observatory of Jicamarca has been very enriching, I have been able to learn a lot about the dynamics that exist in the high atmosphere, No doubt I have taken advantage of my request here to develop my investigative skills and also enjoyed in my free time the culture of this great country, its places, its food and in general the atmosphere that is lived both in Peru and Jicamarca. I am grateful for the opportunity
