“The JIREP program was excellent, and I accomplished my primary goals outlined in my statement of intent with help from the JRO staff. Furthermore, my interactions with the JRO scientists helped me work though a variety of problems I was having with both my system hardware and data processing challenges… The JIREP program was good and the data I gathered will serve as a significant portion of my thesis. The JRO staff was always helpful and provided all tools necessary for me to complete my objective (besides sufficient time with the JASMET system). The international collaborations were very good and I feel as though there was significant knowledge exchange regarding the design and implementation of software defined radar systems, especially on the topics of GPS disciplined oscillators, USB interfaces and all-sky meteor radar signal processing. I would give the JIREP program a 4 out of 5 stars and would definitely recommend the program to all students interested in radar and remote sensing. Working in a remote international environment is challenging but very rewarding. Thanks to all the JRO staff for a wonderful experience! ”

“I had a wonderful time working at JRO this summer. The staff of Jicamarca was very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed working with them. The research done here has furthered my interests and knowledge in the space weather field. I am glad I was able to experience Peruvian culture and do science!”

“My experience at JRO was fantastic. I enjoyed working with the JRO staff and experiencing Peru. The staff at JRO were understanding of my lack of Spanish speaking skills and helpful with any problems that came up. I learned a great deal about the Peruvian cuisine, culture, history, and people as well as city life. Overall I found Peru and JRO to be an unforgettable experience and look forward to an opportunity to return to Peru.”
