Because of its 50 th anniversary of foundation, it was launched 50 years postage stamp of Jicamarca Radio Observatory in recognition of the service of science and its special contribution to the knowledge of Equatorial Geospace. The presentation of the stamp was held on July 11th at “Los Delfines” hotel in the celebration of the 64th Anniversary of the Geophysical Institute of Peru. The ceremony was presided by Dr. Ronald Woodman, Executive Chairman of the Geophysical Institute of Peru, Mr. Adm. Jose Ahumada Vasquez, and Chairman of Serpost SA, who signed the minutes of the first day of issue of the postmark. On that occasion, it was unveiled a giant poster of the stamp art consisted on the logo 50 years and a panoramic photo of the Radio Observatory and one of the main antenna. The value of the stamp and the envelope is 6.50 and 7.50 soles respectively and are on sale to the public since July this year.

At the end of the ceremony were given copies of the first day of issue and philatelic album. Then, a count-in picture - of what this day meant for all who are part of the Jicamarca family.
