Students interested in electronics, RF, instrumentation and computer science are also encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>Besides equatorial aeronomy science, our program offers hands-on experience on other areas of Engineering and Physics. In recent years, we have added a variety of instruments and tools for atmospheric and ionospheric science that you might want to explore or get involved in. For example:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; \u2022 Signal Chain: is the main software development project undertaken by our professionals. It consists in developing all the software tools needed to process radar data obtained with our ionospheric radar. The programming will be developed in C and python basically and is object oriented. The student will be involved in learning some techniques of data processing and implementing part of them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; \u2022 8 Channel Digital Acquisition System: developing a radar acquisition system for Jicamarca is one of the main goals of the Research &amp; Development Area. Currently a 8 channel acquisition radar system has been developed and being tested by the Operation Area.
